Dr. Glenn's — Education

Understanding what you're choosing.

Our education library is written for people approaching cannabis thoughtfully — whether you’re brand new or have questions no one has answered well. Take your time here. There is no rush.

🌱 New to THC? Start here.

  • One full dropper (1 ml) represents a standard measured serving. Individuals new to THC may choose to begin with a smaller portion of the dropper. Wait a full 90 minutes before considering additional use.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery after tincture use
  • Education is not a substitute for medical advice.
Extraction

What is Rosin — and why does it matter?

Rosin is a solventless cannabis extract produced using only heat and pressure. No chemical solvents. No butane. No ethanol. The result is a concentrate that reflects minimal processing and transparent inputs.

The problem with solvent-based extraction

Many cannabis extracts are produced using solvents such as butane, ethanol, or CO₂, followed by additional refinement steps before the extract reaches its final form. Dr. Glenn’s uses Rosin exclusively. Here is what that means.

What Rosin means for our products

Our batches are third-party tested, including screening for residual solvents (none detected), along with potency and safety panels. Every Certificate of Analysis is available by batch number at dodgerblue-donkey-104716.hostingersite.com/lab-results.

We chose Rosin because it represents a straightforward standard: fewer downstream steps, transparent inputs, and third-party verification at every batch. Not a marketing claim. A process decision.

Why so few brands use Rosin

Rosin production requires significantly more starting cannabis material per unit of finished extract than solvent-based methods. The process is slower, more labor-intensive, and more costly. The economics make it a difficult standard to maintain — which is exactly why we consider it worth protecting. Very few manufacturers produce THC products using true Rosin extraction. At Dr. Glenn’s, this is not a differentiator. It is the baseline.

TOPICALS

How cannabis topicals work — and what to expect

Cannabis topicals are applied to the skin for localized use in the area of application. When used as directed, Dr. Glenn’s topicals are non-intoxicating and are designed for everyday routines without impairment.

Will I feel a "high" from a topical?

Non-intoxicating when used as directed. Dr. Glenn’s topicals are formulated for localized, surface application and are appropriate for use throughout the day without impairment. This is one of the reasons the topical line was the original Dr. Glenn’s formulation — designed for daily routines without affecting clarity or function.

Important distinction

Transdermal patches — which are specifically engineered to cross the skin barrier into systemic circulation — work differently from standard topicals. Dr. Glenn’s topicals are not transdermal patches. They are designed for localized, surface application.

How to use a topical thoughtfully

Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin in the area of interest. Massage gently until absorbed. For topicals intended for evening or sleep support, apply 30–45 minutes before your intended rest time. Start with less than you think you need. Assess after 30 minutes. Consistency over time — not a single large application — often leads to a more predictable experience.

What to look for in a quality topical

Rosin-infused topicals like Dr. Glenn’s begin with a solventless extract — residual solvents tested (none detected), with no unnecessary processing shortcuts. Look for products that disclose their extraction method, list all ingredients clearly, and provide third-party lab results for every batch. Transparent extraction methods and accessible lab results are meaningful indicators of quality.

Understanding tinctures and systemic support

Unlike topicals, tinctures are absorbed systemically — typically by holding them under the tongue. This means they work throughout the body and may produce psychoactive effects at sufficient doses. They require more care, more patience, and a clear starting approach.

⚠ Warning

Dr. Glenn’s tinctures contain THC. Depending on the dose and individual physiology, they may produce psychoactive effects including altered perception and changes in mood or cognition. Do not drive or operate machinery after use. Keep out of reach of children. Store securely.

What systemic means

When THC is absorbed systemically, it may affect the brain and nervous system. This is what can make tinctures feel more noticeable than topicals — and why dosing carefully is essential.

The half-dropper starting approach

Both Dr. Glenn’s tinctures are designed around a half-dropper starting point. This is not a legal formality. It is the approach that produces the most consistent, predictable first experiences. Begin with half a dropper. Hold under the tongue for 60 seconds before swallowing. Wait the full 90 minutes before assessing. Do not adjust in the same session. Note your experience and adjust — if needed — on a subsequent occasion, not in the moment.

Individual variation

Sublingual absorption varies significantly based on body weight, metabolism, individual physiology, and whether you have eaten recently. What feels mild for one person may feel significant for another. There is no shortcut to understanding your own response — only patience and a conservative starting point.

Speak with your physician or pharmacist

If you are managing a health condition, taking prescription medications, or are new to THC, please consult your physician or pharmacist before starting. Pharmacists are often highly accessible and well-positioned to advise on potential interactions — particularly with sedatives, blood thinners, and other medications that affect alertness or cardiovascular function. Your care team is your best first resource.

Using cannabis responsibly

Dr. Glenn’s products are designed for thoughtful adults. The following guidance reflects genuine care for your safety and wellbeing.

Start with the minimum

Whether topical or tincture, always begin with less than you think you need. For topicals: apply a small amount and assess after 30 minutes. For tinctures: half a dropper with a full 90-minute wait. You can always adjust on a future occasion. Dosing conservatively helps prevent experiences that feel stronger than intended.

Give it time

Tinctures in particular require patience. The full effect of a sublingual dose may not be apparent for 60–90 minutes. Resist the urge to adjust before that window has passed.

Keep a simple record

Especially if you are new to THC — note what you took, when, how much, and what you experienced. This is invaluable for finding the right approach for your body over time.

Be consistent

Topicals in particular reward consistency over volume. A small amount applied regularly will generally produce a more reliable experience than larger, less frequent applications.

Who should be especially careful

Adults with a personal or family history of severe mental health conditions — especially those involving hallucinations or delusions — should use THC products with significant caution and physician guidance. Older adults and those taking multiple medications should also consult their care team before use, as THC may amplify or interact with certain medications.

Critical Note

If you are in an active period of health management, always inform your physician, pharmacist, or care team that you are using or considering a cannabis product. We are not in a position to provide medical guidance — but your team should have the full picture of what you are taking.

Storage and safety

Store all Dr. Glenn’s products in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children and pets. Never leave cannabis products in vehicles where heat can degrade the formulation. Keep all products in their original labeled packaging to prevent accidental use.

Your questions, answered honestly

Will I feel high from a Dr. Glenn's topical?

Dr. Glenn’s topicals are non-intoxicating when used as directed. They are designed for localized, surface application and are appropriate for use throughout the day without impairment.

Can tinctures produce a high?

Yes. Tinctures are absorbed systemically and may produce psychoactive effects depending on dose and individual physiology. Always begin with half a dropper and allow the full 90 minutes before assessing. If you are new to THC, starting conservatively is not just cautious — it is the approach we designed our products around.

Is THC available where I live?

Dr. Glenn’s products are available exclusively in California, where we hold a full state manufacturing, retail, and delivery license. We do not ship outside of California. If you are located outside of California, our products are not currently available to you.

What makes Rosin different from other cannabis extracts?

Rosin is produced using only heat and pressure — no chemical solvents. This means fewer downstream processing steps and a final product with transparent, verifiable inputs. Every Dr. Glenn’s batch is third-party tested for residual solvents — none detected — along with potency and safety panels.

Are these products safe if I take other medications?

We strongly recommend consulting your physician or pharmacist before using any cannabis product alongside prescription medications. THC may interact with sedatives, blood thinners, and other medications that affect alertness or cardiovascular function. Your care team is your best resource for personalized guidance.

Will these products show up on a drug test?

Potentially, yes. If drug testing is a concern in your situation, please consult your care team or employer before using any THC product.

How do I know how much to use?

For topicals: apply a small amount to the area of interest and assess after 30 minutes. For tinctures: always begin with half a dropper, wait the full 90 minutes, and only consider adjusting on a subsequent occasion. When in doubt, less is always the right starting answer.

Where are Dr. Glenn's products made?

All Dr. Glenn’s products are formulated and manufactured in San Rafael, California. We hold a California manufacturing, retail, and delivery license. Every batch is third-party lab tested before it ships.

Can I view lab results for my specific product?
